OK water is a swear word I guess LOL Thats funny!!! Yes they are salt w a t e r LOL Alas they are cold marine, so I am having trouble with the tank temp, but it seems to worry me more than it does them! Im afraif I will lose them over summer. If I do I will get tropical horses then I can have starfish too The are so cool. I put my hand in the tank to straighten out decorations and they attach to my finger and think Im a plant! They are not hard to look after at all, you just have to get the salt right, just watch your hydrometer and PH feed brime shrimp and Mysis shrimp. Plenty of nice water changes are they are very happy. I didnt know alot until I researched them.......... Do you know its the make that gets pregnant....the female lays the eggs and he puts them in HIS pouch and they grow from his nutrients then when they are big enough he releases them and they are on their own! I have 2 females so I wont see that until after summer. I wont get a male until I know they have survived the summer.I cant buy a cooler they are over $1000 for a half way decent one. Hey sammi give me a call sometime.

Oh and to keep the water cool maybe you could freeze some water in a coke bottle and float that around the tank if it gets really hot.... to help to keep the water cooler.... I read that somewhere.... also a fan set up across the top of the water with ice in front of it...?

Oh dear...teach you guys to swear on the forums! ;D
the swear filter has some seriously strange stuff in it.
Lovely sea horses by the way. Are they 'southern knights?" if so they may be the ones bred here in launceston at the seahorse farm.

Yes they are southern Knights. Now Im looking for a cheap chiller for them... I just adore them. Ive heard alot about the seahorse farm. Id love to come and see it. My seahorses are weird. Their natural food is Mysis shrimp.........and they also eat brine shrimp but apprentley are not to keen on it and it hant the best nutritional value.........Hubby brought wholesale a box of brine shrimp (frozen) and Mysis shrimp....... My horses tunn their little noses up at the Mysis!!! and LOVE the Brine..... I give them a mixure each day..... They dont seem to be suffering for it but Im worried as the brine has little nutritional value to them.
