Hi all.....had a nice surprise this morning when I found nineteen fry in the tank. With a bit of luck the other two females should have theirs in the next week or so. Sorry about the poor pics I hope no one gets flash blind.......could'nt get good macro shots of the fry, my fault and probably not the cameras.

Thanks bumblebee. I kept the four of them pretty juiced up in the last three weeks and have not had much trouble in just a speices tank.....touch wood.
I have not had guppy fry for ages but have had a few betta spawns this year and when I saw the guppy fry they looked HUGE!!!.....it was a bit of a shock really.

yes, I just had a nice spawn of 600+ betta, you really have to thank gups for their large 'ready to flake feed' fry ;D

I tried, but he tried to kill her. Instead she ended up spawning with a lavender marbled VT betta I had for a pet for 2 years. Unfortunatley I lost most of the spawn as I have the tanks floating in my 60 gal and in jumped a gup one night when I ended up in hospital (forgot to put the lids back on) an endler also jumped into the male bettas tank and all I found in the morning was a head The remaining fry are ok and about the size of gup fry at the moment. Is that a Plakat in your avatar BTW?

wow thats a heap of bad luck, sorry to hear it. Yeah he was little ripper, he was jet black to the naked eye and only showed white-lightblue under a flash. I wish plakats were more plentiful here.....if they were I'd have heaps of them, the colours now are unreal are'nt they. I never bred with him because I could not find the right girl and did not want to put him with a regular vt. Sadly I had to put him down on sunday as he had a tumor type growth that got worse and was virtually untreatable. Thats fishkeeping I guess.

thats terrible . I hate it when things like that happen to your favourites. Hope you can get some plakats. People are getting more into the different varietys so they seem to be available a little more. I would love one of the half-moon or double tail ones. I might ask the admin to put a special betta section in tank mates, they seem a very popular discussion topic all ready

nice fry, hope they grow up into some nice gups for you!.
Have created a betta sub-board, I know people are very passionate about them and without a good place to talk they often go OT ;D

Thanks Cyberguppy.....I moved the adults an hour ago as I could only count 17. I wont be able to keep an eye on them good enough over the weekend so better be safe with them. Great stuff about the betta sub board....good on you both. ;D

good idea, I dont think I would trust a potentially hungry gup either, as soon as their bellys start rumbling those fry start looking like a nice snack ;D
