Nice, the glass bottle and beads are a great touch. do you have much trouble with fish getting stuck or are they all to small?

Thanks, the fish love it, they seem to know if they wont fit. At least i have never had a fish get stuck...yet. Corys and Coolie Loaches like it too. Algae gradually grows on it, u can see the fish and its easy enough to take out to clean. I have used bottles in tanks before and havnt had probs. Will try to post some pics of my other tank and the one i set up today.

nice. are they the aqu-pro or aqua one kit tanks? I have recently been replacing all mine with the little 30 lt aqua one tanks, they are great as all you need is a small 55watt heater. I figured it was cheaper than getting a re-fit on all the heaters, filters, lights and old tanks which were starting to look a little crummy. They make great breeding tanks and show tanks for a couple of males. (I get up to 15 in mine when cycled for about 3 months)

Yep they r the Aqua 1 tanks, about 30ltres. Love em, a complete system except for a heater. Perfect for Guppies. I now have three. One for adults, and two for fry, a males and females tank. They also have good lights. The quickest i have cycled one was three days, with water from tanks already cycled, lots of plants including Java fern and Java moss.

same here, I have 2 aqua 1 and a aqua pro, the aqua one's seem to be better quality, the only feature I like about the A'pro is the adjustable intake on the filter, you can make the water faster or slower so it is a little more suitable for fry. The other I need to tie a fry net over the intake I cheat when cycling by just putting in half the gravel and the sponge and half the ceramic beads from the oldest tank. its pretty easy to 'instantly' cycle a tank when you have others to borrow from

Yeah i cycled one of my tanks in two days with water and gravel, plus a few plants from my other tank. Did it the same way with my third tank, but this one took four days. The only difference was, the cycled in two days tank had Java fern in it. I read on another forum that if u used Java fern in a new tank it helps quicken the cycle. Apparently Java fern thrives in a little Nitrate/ Nitrite. Well i thought it couldnt hurt, so put some in the second tank. Couldnt get any when i cycled the third tank so went without. I reccon it made a difference. I havnt yet had any trouble with losing fry up intakes etc coz the tanks i have, have a small powerhead filter close to the base plate. The gravel covers a little of the filter but its intake is under the base plate. Then the water goes up the pipe and out a spreader device. Hope that doesnt sound confusing. It really is a simple system, thats why its good for me. I dont have a lot of time to muck about.

Nice setup, I set one up in a day with and old filer cartridge, sponge and added lots of watersprite, added the tanks residents ten minutes later, that was 3 weeks ago and they are still fine. Its great when you have more than 1 tank
