I'm working on a planted tank and not sure if I need to put an air stone in the tank if I end up putting guppies in the planted tank.
Is there a need to use air stone/pump in a tank of guppies?

It really depends on how many fish you keep in my opinion. I never had an airstone but as my population of guppies grew I had an issue of nitrite poisoning which I think was something to do with natural c02 and oxygen exchanges anyway I put an airstone in after that and have since had no issues as the airstone helps the oxygen to circulate.
an airstone will not create more oxygen but it will help the circulation of oxygen throughout your tank. It is a personal choice as to whether you have one or not. you could also turn you filter outlet up to make the current stronger which will also circulate the oxygen around.
anybody else feel free to add if you disagree with me.

Thanks sammigold! I'd definately give it a try, I think the filter outlet produce a strong current, meaning I can still play around with my plants, co2 and my guppies!! Yay!
