LOL ! Yes I do read alot.... Im always looking at different links reading up on stuff and having 5 tanks with different fish with different requirements I have to make sure that I am doing the right thing for everyone... Have definitely experienced the benefits of good old cooking salt when I had what I believe was a bout of nitrite poisoning... I only lost one fish out of about 40 (guppies) and I believe that was because of the salt. now worming.... I will forward you to a couple of sites that talk about worms and then you can decide from there whether you think that might be your angels problem... www.finarama.com/diseases/this site seems to be devoted to angels and you will see a thing on camallanus worms there. this is a quote from a site that helps diagnose problems... (possible symptoms of your fish?) redIndividual fish stay apart from others. Breathing is normal. They may refuse food. They may have "cloudy" or grey areas on the skin. There are no other physical signs. Lethargy and inappetence are common symptoms of many diseases, so further investigation is essential 1) Fish may be suffering from a parasite problem. Take a skin and gill scrape. Examine the gills. 2) There could be internal disease problems 3) Early stage of systemic bacterial infection. Isolate and observe 4) Test core water parameters redthe site is www.fishdoc.co.uk/disease/parasites.htm One form of medication is levamisole that is not available from aquariums it is available from grain feed stores.... (I have a bottle of this so if you needed some I could give you a bit of mine that way you dont have to spend $15 on a 500 ml bottle when you only use 1ml per 7litres.) Levamisole will get rid of nematode worms such as roundworm and camallanus. then you just have to go to your lfs and get a bottle of sterazin which is for flukes and other parasites/worms etc. that should help. dont do the treatments at the same time.... and if you do decide to worm with levamisole give me a yell and I can tell you where to get it if you want to buy it... or give you some like I said. hth... it is best to try and research the symptoms of your fish as much as possible before trying to medicate.... try the live food approach first and see if that helps encourage him to eat. cheers sammi

wow. those symptoms: Individual fish stay apart from others. Breathing is normal. They may refuse food. They may have "cloudy" or grey areas on the skin. There are no other physical signs. are so much like him but i dont want to remove him from his partner. what if the pair break up. i heard discus when bought as a pair can break up on the way to home in the bags. would it be ok if i put the healthy fish in there with him?

I dont see why you couldnt... I dont think it would harm the healthy fish to be treated as well although in my opinion it would be best to separate as why treat a healthy fish? I dont know about the likeliehood of the pair separating because of time apart so I really cant advise on that...
