im good at keeping/breeding fish so i might move on to the angel fish to see if i can succesfully breed them. since they lay eggs itll be different for me and probably get me ready to breed other hard to breed egg layers. PS is there an aus angel? ;D joke

they are a good fish but may be difficult if you are a beginner. kribs are a very good choice if you want a very plentiful easy to breed egg-layer so you can get the hang of raising fry. other simple to breed egg-layers are bristlenose, killifish, corydora, convict cichlids, red forest cichlids, betta and gouramis.
have fun with whatever you choose.

easy but fiddlly. you need a tank to keep the male, tank to keep the female (usually a community tank) and a breeding tank of around 2.5-5 lt. the breeding tank I usually fill 1/3 with floating plants, pop the male in, place the female in (in a clear container) wait till he builds a nest, release the female so they spawn, remove the female and let the male look after the eggs untill they hatch. once they hatch I remove the male and feed the fry on live BBS a day after they are free swimming.

Hmm. got 6 young angels the other day. im raising them and hopefully they will begin to pair off as they grow. But i have a problem. LOL. everytime they see me theey start swimming at me and ramming the front glass. ti think this is because they are hunger. i started to feed em 1 ttime a day. buty then i moved to 2 then 3 times a day. i feed them heavly. im scared theyll die of over feeding. any way even after i feed them an hour or so later they start asking for food again. grrr. so anoying. should i ignore them and feed once a day? perhaps they will soon learn...

angels are complete pigs. they would feed untill they burst given the chance. give them both frozen bloodworm and spirulina (algae) flakes to get them growing well. 2 small meals a day is good for juveniles.

i have a problem. i have 5 angels and 3 of them have what looks like mouth fungus. they had it since i bought them but it was to smal tobe noticed. its been 1 week and the 'fungus' is still too small to be notied unless you look closely.its all over there lips. but this hasnt stoped them eating nor have an effect on there activeity levels. do you think its mouth fungus or should i not worry about it?

it may be, what are your water perameters? new angels may not do so well as they have usually been bred in fairly clean, low ph conditions. you usually lose some to adjusting. possibly isolating them and treating with tetracyclene or anything with acriflavine will help, dont put this stuff in a main tank though as it destroys all your beneficial bacteria. they should come good once they have settled. just keep up lots of small water changes and feed them little as possible.

i have 4 marble angels but they arent all the same age. i have two angels around 3 cm one more double that and another noticeably bigger then that. If they pair those the size/ age of the perants mater? (eg: could i have a 7 month old angel pair up with a 11 month old one?)
