i have a douple sword tail gupy and he LOVES to pick on other guppies. all my other guppys are to tired to get up in the morning and all they do all day is sit at the bottom. so i took my little guppy and put him in my mums tank. she has many different fish in it (no guppys).when i put my guppy in he was most intrested in bullying the female beta. each time the guppy approached the female betta, the betta would flare up and chase him away! its very cool to watch them. He now spends his time with the zebra daniose (which are also so active that they appear to be on drugs) swimming at the top of the tank. i heard somewhere that double sword tailes where good at fighting

I know 'swordtails' as in the other livebearer are a bit nasty, but have never had this problem with swordtail guppies. You very occasionally get one with a bad attitude. I find guppies will pick on guppies that they think are ill.

no. my guppies where fine before he came. he picked on my red grass guppy but i never accualy noticed anything wrong. the he went on with my yeloow grass guppy, which faught back. but the swordtails energy never seemed to finish, so when i noticed my grass guppies on the i new the problem right away. i put the sword tail in me mums tank but soon after the yeloow grass guppy died. the red one never recovered ether- i thing his swimming bladder ( i think thats the name) was, well, dammaged after fighting because after recovering he wasnt able to swim properly, he would float to the top and wiggle around. he died yesterday(got stuck on the filter inlet ) so thats what happened.

what size was the tank? sounds like this new fish may have brought in a disease. If it was a very small tank the new addition may have added more waste than the tank could cope with and made the others sick. Odd but it can happen.

no. the cause was not a diseas. it was caused from the swordtail guppy. the tank is 110lt-130lts and only holds 6 guppies. so there is no overcrowding going on there if you had seen my fish you would have agreed with me. i heard this sometimes happens with zebra danios that are kept in groups of only 2-3 in a community tank, they harras others/ often to death

i now. ohh well. as i wold you i put the swordtail in with the female betta nad other fish in me mums tank. the swordtail guppy gave up the bullying habit because each time he went to fight with the female betta (he didnt pick on anyone else in that tank, dont know why) the betta would flare up and the swordtail would lose the fight. lol now i put the swordtail in my gup tank and he is no longer bullying anyone! thats so cool. btw i know have: 2 female gups - one is dying from old age --------------------- 2 male gups (including the swordtail.)\ --------------------- empty --------------------- 4 fry left --------------------- < this reprisents how my tank is divided. my tank is alittle like the ones in the lps --------------------------------------------------- I I I I I I fry I breedingI I females I I I I males I I I I I I I ---------------------------------------------------
