Origin: Sumatra, Java, and Borneo.
Max Size: 4 inches.
Temperament: Peaceful
Sociability: A loner, and mainly nocturnal.
Environment: Soft acidic water prefered and subdued lighting and with lots of hiding places.
Climate: Tropical, 74f to 82f.
Diet: All live food and flake.
Breeding: Very difficult there are no reliable records, but fry have been found in home aquaria.
Sexual Characteristics: Adult females are deeper bodied.
Availability: Very common.
Further Information: A good community fish. But has been known to disappear only to be discovered living quite happily below an U/G filter.
