Will start this thread off with a spawn that happened about 2-3 weeks ago now> top view of eggs closeup Mr betta and his finished nest, over 600 eggs! fry a frw hours old, hatching in around 24 hours. a young betta from the spawn approx 2.5 weeks old

They are some of the best shots of eggs I've seen bumblebee....good close up on the 2.5 week old fry too!. I have a fish exactly like your male and have not mated him yet, what colour female is yours ?.

dark marone with metallic blue striping along her fin rays, with an almost black head.
It freaked me out when I first saw that their eggs were white, in every other fish I have had it means they are dead ;D

well, as an UD the fish that lived were female, relitivley long finned and had a metal jacket of bright blue. One spawned with My crowntail today and produced around 300 eggs ;D here she is:

Fantastics pics......Betta are beautiful... It realy saddens me to see them in those tiny jars in LFS.....How old will the fry be before they start "Fighting"

Fantastics pics......Betta are beautiful... It realy saddens me to see them in those tiny jars in LFS.....How old will the fry be before they start "Fighting" usually about 3-4cm, sometimes a little bigger though, usually when the males are getting their colour and just before they start growing their nice finnage. Depends how agressive the breed is really. The fry hatched out today, my old purple 3yo betta is now a Grandpa ;D
