Very nasty, sorry for your loss The little white mark/lump under her dorsal is very very suspicious though. There is an acute form or columnaris (usually saddleback) that can kill within about two hours of the fish showing any symptoms. Usually cutting down temp to around 24c, cutting back drasticly on any live/frozen foods and keeping tank extra clean will stop the problem. Not worth medicating for saddleback because once the fish shows symptoms its a goner . best to just keep an eye on it, improve water conditions a little. I get this problem when feeding frozen brine shrimp and anything else that 'leaks' a lot of fluid when it is put in the tank.

Thanks for the reply, a LOT more informative than ausfishforums.
It's a pity for the loss, but as bad as it sounds no big loss to me. I've got so many juveniles right now I can't tell who from who, and most are quite plain.
No illnesses today of any kind, so that's a good sign. This would be my second only illness if that's what it is, the other was a adult male that I had to cull that had dropsy.
Thanks!

I would second that!.
The little white lump under the dorsal does look like saddleback. I have had it in my tank and it usually goes hand-in hand with dropsy. Usually the dropsy will start showing up in a tank a few weeks before the columnaris takes hold. Treatment. as above. Just improve water and feeding and it should be no prob. Knowing the early warning signs is good, it can wipe out an entire tank in days and cost you $100s of dollars. fixing it is as simple as cutting back feeding and possibly lowering temp if it is too high.

if you leave the snails to eat the guppy , they will eat its flesh and after that you tke the dead guppy of them and you can then abserve the skeliton of a guppy. + no i didnt do it. i had a sick female on e night i thought ill be ok. then i woke up the next morning to find my snail having breakfast. i took her off him and all you could see was bones still joined:P and some colour left on the tail. it was cool. i let it dry. but then my brother crushed it." ohh whast this?" said the little brat i refer to as brother. 'DONT TOUCH IT" i screamed. but then i heard a crunch. and my fish skeliton was gone.

A long time ago one of my corydora catfish went missing. I found it a few weeks later behind a rock as a complete and perfect skeleton, they are amour plated and the 'armour' was still intact. Somehow I managed to remove it in one piece. the entire fish besides its eyes and barbells are armour plated . It looked like a little white fossil of some kind.
