OK Ive had enough of this. My husband brought me some awesome gups to replace my darlings.....what did I find yesterday morning...I THINK its columnaris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were in perfect health, and had been quarantined for 3 weeks at his work. They have patches. one just above the tail, one kinda in its middle and one I woukld say if a fish had a neck, there. They are small patches almost like fading. At first I thought it was Ick but that has a salt sprinke affect. I added salt to the tank and after 24 hrs have shown no sign of improvement. After speaking to a LFS ( yes stupid me) He sold me Multi cure aid in cure for Ick, Velvet and fungal diseases. he said dose the tank as all the fish had been together. The active constituants are......Melechite Green (Now I have an un cycled tank!!!) Methylene Blue and acriflavine After reading on the net I have only seen one thing saying melechite green helps WHAT am I supposed to use? Half the things mentioned on the net you cant get here! Will someone please help.....This is getting VERY frustrating

I tried "pimafix" with success on both guppies and black widow tetras.... It is a natural med and doesnt harm the bio filter if you follow the label.... like anything excessively long use of it will affect the cycle... I would say it is columnaris rather than ick... Good luck HTH
