my name is tonia and i am knew to the guppy world.My husband got me the guppy for mothers day and she was pregnant when i recived her.On the 19th she gave birth and she and the fry are doing well. the question i have is how old do the fry have to be to start showing color and how old before i'll be able to start sexing them out and how do i tell female from male. I know this is alot of question to ask all at one time but any input would help me alot.Thanks for the help ahead of time in case i forget to say so later!

Hello and welcome to the forum, this page may help with most of the questions . ausguppy.earth.prohosting.com/GuppyFAQ.htm depending on the breed they may take anywhere from a few weeks to 4 months to get there full colours. feel free to ask more questions if you need too, there is a lot of 'stickys' in each section of the forum to help if no-one is online. |

Hi Tonia, Welcome to the forum.....
In regard to your sexing question... Separate them as soon as you can tell them apart if you want your females to remain "virgins". A good way to tell if they are female is the little dark gravid spot that starts to show toward the anal area, they are also a little more rounded of body I have found than Males.... HTH
