you know how the angels have a realy long fin on the top and bottom. well one of my angles top fin (its the best looking angel btw!!) is broken at the tip. you can see the broken bone in side the fin. this i think is causeing stress on the other bones because the top fin tends to "curl up" more and more every day! its collapsing on its self. im realy sad. i dont think there is a way to fix this. no? btw will it be ok to breed because he is VERY healthy active and is the one that always eats! he isnt deforemed in anyway exept for the top fin, but that isnt a deformation... here are a pic of the poor guy. you can see the broken ness you can download a vidoe clip of him from here, its easier to see on the clip. www.upload2.net/page/download/waCtXXbDdZyVaWd/DSCF2085.AVI.htmlplease reply to me!!!! waaaa

what size tank, what is your ph and how often do you clean? I had this problem with my big angel for a very long time but with his bottom fin. it would always break then quickly ment with a few small water changes. only thing I could suggest is giving it a more varied diet as its bones may be a little brittle if it doesnt get enough nutrients. I think this problem comes about because the fins are bred into them to be longer than their bones can support.

no no. i give them the folowing to eat: nutrafin max complete flake food nutrafin max spirulina algea flake food nutrafin max plus mysis flakes.(with bits of dried mysis! WOW) and frozen bloodworms/brineshrimp and some times i get them a single feed of live bloodworms/brineshrimp (although i know there is no differance in vitamens etc its just cool whatching em eat lol.) i clean there tank often, i leave algea in the back wall for them to pick at. i have a catfish that eats left overs/ the sinking pelate things. and 2 FAT flying foxes for algea control (even they cant control the algea (too much(means i have a healthy aquarium right?)(ohh and i have green algea no bluea etc thats bad)) my tank is nice and high and ph is always is or below 7.never above. the thing about breeding for long fins: i totaly agree! i will be breeding them as soon as they are at the right age but i wont breed for fins. i will breeed only the fishes that are good perants (as i will not interact with there peranting ways.) i want to breed a generation of angles that will perant nicely. i think humans have taken matters into there own hands too much the last few years and the angles have forgoten how to raise young. that is not good.

Hope you do well with them. I think interfearing in fishes who paerent young does mess them up. take for instance betta, they live together in the wild and are amazing paerents. breeders dont leave fry or dads together during development and we get hyper-agressive fish.

I am so with you on the parenting thing..... I think people take way to much time interfering these days. and should just leave it to the fishies.... well done on taking that stance! good luck and I hope you get some good parents.
