do guppies only give birth at night? All of my fish have over the years have only given birth at night.

not unusual, I find most of mine stick to about 6am-8am. Most likley because they feel they are more secure.

Usually night/early morning for all my fish too. Ancistrus and egg layers like corys also seem to prefer very early mornings for spawning too. As Bumblebee said, for security, it is after most nocturnal predators go to bed and before the daytime ones wake up.

I've found that night births are definently more common......a nice surprise for the mornings But I spent most of yesterday afternoon siphoning out new born fry a few at a time, about 30, into a new tank. It would have been much easier for me if she had them at night !!!.
