The best age to try and tell fry apart is at around 3-4 weeks. Females will be the ones you are looking for as they are the easiest to tell apart. Look at the vent area for what appears to be a dark area in the silver skin of the gut, or a mini-gravid spot. This will be visible from birth but you will need great eye sight to tell on such a tiny fry. Males will not develop colour or gonipodiums untill about 6-8 weeks of age (although this may vary).
