Hi guys, At the moment the guppies I have are
Half back (round cordal) Half black ribbon fins White ribbon fins The white ribbon fin females have the same shape to their fins as male pacific blue eyes. They are real stunners. Japanese bluegrass .
Other livebearers I’ve got are:
Sunset High fin platy’s Red high fin platy’s orange sail fin mollies white/opaline lyre tail sail fin mollies Black lyre tail mollies Red swordtails Mixed coloured swordtails
I am getting in two different colour strains of Endlers soon hopefully.
All are producing fry so I am running out of space very quickly. Some like the swords I’ve had to just let the fry take their chance in with the adults, but the rest I have the adults in floating cages so the fry can get away from them. Most are in 140 litre tubs undercover outside but come winter I don’t know what I’ll do. The tubs are around $20 each and last a couple of years so they are a bargain for making a guppy breeding setup with.
Cheers D

where do you live that you can keep them in tubs... don't you have to heat the water?

I live in Brisbane and at the moment the problem I have is overheating. I've put a tin roof on the green house I have the tubs in to keep out the heat. It has worked better than I hoped so the water is down to 25 degrees now. I also have a small pool with sailfin mollies and red chilly barbs breeding in. Both lots of adults are in floating cages as well so it is only the babies that get free rein of the pool.

sounds like a great setup. Are you able to sell to lps to get rid of excess fish before winter? If not I find a lot of stores would rather swap fish for credit, especially if your fish are healthy, a good way of getting food, equipment and new tanks.

I sell them at the fish at the auctions that are held up here. Otherwise I just sell to members of the clubs I‘m in or if I have excess I sell over the net in sites like this one. Would you like me to post the auction and club meeting dates on here for the QLD people if they are interested?
