Im excited. Remember a few weeks/months ago my husband brought 3 stray Bettas home. One died, 2 lived. SO husband decided to get females for them. This is realy weird our tank is 5 foot but at the end has 3 compartments...all to do with the fikltration but one compartment has nothing in it and is quite spacious. Hubby put one of the Bettas in there because no matter what was put with him he attacked it. In this compartment at the bottom there is a space of about 2 inches that goes under the sponge filter stack, so he basically has an "L" shape swimming space if you know what I mean. He loves it there. Has absolutely thrived. SOOOOOOOO hubby decides to show him a female....well he flared and danced and look magnificent then about an hour later hubby yells, hes building a bubble nest!!! YAH!!!! until I saw where! Under the 2 inch gap on the bottom of the sponges...... As fast as he is builing the sponge is sucking them up...but he keeps building. I decided to block the L shape off so he has to build in the his main area.. Well was he impressed NO!! He sulked in the weeds and just eyeballed me. I felt so mean. This morning hes waiting by the blockage to build again. I gave in and trook the blockage out and hes as happy as Larry building hus nest under the sponge filter again. He comes out flirts with his lady chases her around.... then goes back to building... Nature is amazing. I wonder if anything will come from this... Bumblebee I will need you close at hand!! I Know nothing of Bettas breeding and havent had alot of time to read up.
